The Purpose of this agreement is to set out the targets, aims and objectives between both parties to ensure students from the Construction Youth Trust especially those within Construction Education Courses, are able to gain more knowledge, know the opportunities and gain work placements in the future.

Targets and Aims
Aspen Build want to encourage site experience and knowledge of projects in the local area. Aspen Build Ltd currently have two sites around the London area
• AP34 Ivy Church, Old Kent Road, London SE1 5UE
• AP56 Hanley Crouch, Sparsholt Road, London N19 4EL

With these two projects having long duration programmes and different methods of construction, we can offer walk-arounds during different stages of the projects which will help students knowledge of how the project has progressed and discuss how they differ in materials and technology used.

The walk-arounds will give the opportunity for students to meet Aspen’s site managers who will explain what works have been carried out, how the project has progressed, what is planned for the next 2-3 months on site, raise any issues / risks that have occurred and how they have been overcome. They will discuss the varying roles of the members of the Aspen Team working on the project along with a route towards reaching such a role.

There will also be Q&A sessions after every walk-round to encourage the students to ask questions and gain better knowledge.

Aspen Build will offer training events such as last year’s very successful “Talk with the Professional” in which the Head of Quantity Surveying at Anglian Ruskin University, Chelmsford attended and gave students a presentation on the different routes within the Construction Industry. Aspen Build’s Manager of London and Essex Operations also discussed Pro’s and Con’s between full and part time education, different strategies within construction management and also held a Q & A Session.

Aspen Build work very closely with many supply chain members in which the opportunities to gain work experience and work placement are open.

Aspen Build are looking forward to the volunteer workshops which have been discussed and the supporting of the online sessions.

Both companies will arrange a Curriculum Vitae Training Day in which a senior manager from Aspen would attend, discuss with the students what they want to see from a CV, giving students tips and letting them know what stands out when reading CV’s.

If there are any students seeking construction management roles and would like some work experience this can be offered.
